The footage in ‘Window’ is an amalgamation of two separate bodies of work. ‘Confession’ (2011) is a series touching on Foucault’s view on western society’s obsession with confession (revealing) and it’s relation to power and freedom. ‘ Refuse’ (2014) is experimentation with black bags and containment (silence), once again touching on Foucault , focusing on his repression theories. ‘Window’ is somewhere in between opening and closing.

‘Refuse’, 2014
Exploring Foucault’s ‘discipline and punish’ and ‘repressive hypothesis’. I’ve always been fascinated by the nature of the refuse bags; how thin the film is and how it bends and breaks under the weight of what we discard and contain.100_1021100_1020100_1017
